Photo of Illustrator Patricia Storms

Patricia Storms is a cartoonist and freelance illustrator specializing in humorous illustrations for both adults and children. She mainly works in pen and ink, watercolour and Photoshop but is always curious about trying new materials. Illustrating children's books is a dream come true for Patricia. She works in educational and trade book illustration and loves to create funny, entertaining and whimsical illustrations for readers of all ages. One day she hopes to add her own writing to her illustrations.

Patricia loves books just as much as she loves drawing and worked in libraries for ten years before pursuing an artistic career.

Patricia was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, lived briefly in Jamaica and grew up in Burlington, Ontario, Canada. Currently, she lives in Toronto with her husband Guy and two fat cats in a 90-year-old house that is full to the brim with books.

Her client list includes Scholastic Canada, Harcourt Canada, Chronicle Books, Barnes & Noble, American Greetings, ChickaDEE magazine and the National Post. Some of her illustrated books include: 13 Ghosts of Halloween, Good Granny/Bad Granny, A Sticky Mess and Fifty Little Penguins. She is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, the National Cartoonists Society and the Canadian Society of Children's Authors, Illustrators and Performers.

Patricia's illustrated blog, BookLust, (http://storms.typepad.com) is a light-hearted labour of love which focuses on her many passions: books, cartoons, art and stuff.
